FOUNDATIONS / 2015 - 2018

FOUNDATIONS / introduction to studio / 5 FT INSTALLATIONS / SPRING 2017

Students were asked to collect 3-4 bagfuls of everyday objects and materials and activate at least 4 x 4 foot space by transforming regular objects past recognition. They based their installations on one of the following idea pairs: permanent v. temporary, painting v sculpture, real v. artificial.

FOUNDATIONS / INTRODUCTION TO STUDIO / THE MAZE PROJECT / FALL 2017

Students created proposals in teams that included research into public and environmental art, a digital schematic of their design, a timeline for production, and material investigation. They presented their proposals. The class voted on which project to pursue. We spent the next weeks of the semester gathering recyclables and constructing the project, trouble-shooting along the way. Each student was given a role within the project including marketing and construction. The final piece was displayed at Emory Point and open to the public.
