Sprawl: Drawing Outside the Lines
High Museum 1280 Peachtree St. Ne Atlanta, GA 30309 http://www.high.org July 18-October 4, 2015 This summer, the High will present its second major exhibition featuring recently acquired works on paper by Georgia-based artists. A sequel to the successful 2013 exhibition Drawing Inside the Perimeter, which featured work by Atlanta-based artists, Sprawl! will include drawings by artists who live and work in Atlanta and other cities in the metro area and beyond, such as Athens, Columbus, Decatur, Lawrenceville and Smyrna. The drawings in the exhibition act as a roadmap exploring the broad diversity of artistic production and approaches to art-making in Georgia, and the featured works also demonstrate both the overlapping spheres of influence and divergent interests and priorities of the artists.
